Healthcare Powers-of-Attorney

The healthcare power-of-attorney is created and controlled by statute in South Carolina.  It is beneficial to have one, so that the designated agent can access your medical records and assist doctors and hospitals in making decisions regarding your healthcare in the event that you are unable to do so for yourself.  It works together with a living will, so that end of life decisions can be made by your agent of agents designated therein in accordance with your desires and instructions as set forth in those two documents.
